During the month of March 2019, Charriol honored, more than ever, its annual BaselWorld’s rendez-vous and gave a piece of time tribute to Philippe Charriol through his most iconic timepieces.
From the first Celtic watch created in 1983 to the last Marie-Olga feminine collection born in 2019, a sober exhibition of 13 emblematic expressions accompanied the memory of their creator. St-Tropez™ (1989), Celtic® II (1990), Christopher Colvmbvs (1992), Tourbillon (1995), Yucatan (1996), Colvmbvs (1997), SuperSportS Diablo (1998), Megève (2000), Lady Jet Set (2002), Lady Automatic (2014), Marie-Olga (2019), SuperSportS Chrono Gran Celtica VdeV (2019)… They all embody the watchmaking vision and the charisma of Philippe Charriol that surrounded this 2019 Baselworld Edition.
Furthermore, from his hometown of Marseille at the beginning of March and in Paris on March 30th, through Dijon with his friends, passionate car team members on the racetrack of Dijon-Prenois, testimonies and tributes have multiplied all over the world. From Mumbai to Manila, from Tokyo to New York, Geneva and Hong Kong, thanks to the thoughts of his great professional and friendship Family, “The watchmaker with wings on his heels*” has made a last round the world trip.
*Title of the book that the writer Michel Cahier devoted to the career of Philippe Charriol in 1998 (Philippe Charriol – The watchmaker with wings on his heels – the amazing rise of a Frenchman in the world of luxury).
