The House’s beautiful tribute to a bold and refined femininity
The secret links between equestrian and watchmaking arts are stamped with the same strong and timeless values: rigor, purity, transmission, passion. They both share the same song of gestures with the hand as a major actor, the eye as a conductor and the heart as a motor. They take time without counting it to achieve excellence, erase complexity to keep only the essential, the beauty, the pure gesture, the perfect moment.
Quintessence of all these attentions, the MARIE-OLGA watch is a jewellery watchmaking creation that pays tribute to one of the passions of its eponymous muse, Marie-Olga Charriol, wife of the founder of the House and distinguished rider.
Bright and refined piece of watch art, this new ambassador of the Maison Charriol combines femininity, sophistication and personality. The time that gives patina and embellishes beautiful objects has shaped its lines, without sparing its hours, to give them curves of ideal proportions.
The silhouette of this watch reflects the gestures of the rider on her horse, combining voltes and figures. The case conjugates roundness and asymmetry. Its oval shape is visually soft and feminine and of a masterful technicity.
The volutes of the magisterial Arabic numerals on its dial like purebreds raiser in a mother-of-pearl enclosure add their slender commas to the beautiful straightness of two hands punctuating the passage of time.
A unique stirrup extends the case with its asymmetrical lugs which underlines the equestrian metaphor and magnifies the purity and personality of MARIE-OLGA’s case.
The bezel and lugs of some versions are set with white diamonds, reflecting the watercolor shades of the mother-of-pearl dial, punctuated by precious markers.
An exclusive fastening system is hidden between the top of the bracelet and the case to offer each gesture a fluidity and a graceful mystery.
Symbolic link of all Charriol collections, the steel cable is here lightweight and ultra-feminine to extend the equestrian spirit and the evocation of the weaving of a competition horse mane on the bracelet. Its 16 twisted steel strands of 1 mm in diameter, exquisitely thin and of unfailing strength, offer this watchmaker’s jewel its Charriol signature.
In the purity of pink or yellow gold, it becomes a refined daytime jewel. Covered in diamonds, it is of a daring sophistication. But whatever the version, the MARIE-OLGA watch offers the most demanding women the spirit of a watchmaker and a jeweler whose beauty is both timeless and boldly modern.
Cable and femininity by Charriol
A love story since 1983
Iconic and inescapable, the steel cable, present in every Charriol creation, both rebellious and sophisticated, embodies the “art of living the difference”, in the image of Celtic culture and femininity, dear to the brand and more than ever of a timeless modernity. Queens, druidesses, fairies or goddesses, Celtic women expressed qualities of strength, Independence and intelligence of a great contemporaneity well before the Christian era. Far from passivity, both protective mothers, passionate lovers, political advisers and formidable fighters, the complexity of their soul and heart has inspired many legends of love, spirituality and freedom. Ariadne’s thread of the Charriol collections, obviously present in this new collection, how not to see in their tendrils and volutes, in their stunning curves of metal twisted with 3 or 4 branches, the evocation of a womanity so intense that it becomes indomitable.
