October 12, Manila – CHARRIOL finally brought its much-awaited St-Tropez party to Philippine shores!
The party, which has created a legend of its own, was held at Opus – an up-scale lounge and restaurant which doubles as a nightclub for Manila’s jet set. What better place to throw a party: a perfect fit for the Swiss luxury brand which had the entire venue decorated to the nines. As the night began, guests were welcomed into CHARRIOL’s prune-colored universe which was even filled with actual palm trees, echoing the posh vibe of St-Tropez itself. The hallway leading to the main venue was beautifully illuminated with a row of flat-screen panels, which showed various videos of the brand, including a timeline of the brand’s most iconic watch collection. The venue itself was a visual delight and was even filled with actual palm trees, echoing the posh vibe of St-Tropez. It was truly a visual delight.
The showstopper was a special LED dance floor which served as the centerpiece, flickering like a kaleidoscope. This was was flanked by two globular light implements projecting the unmistakable CHARRIOL logo. All this set the stage for DJ Kristian Hernandez who spun sophisticated house tunes accompanied by the sexy sounds of Alvin Cornista, on saxophone, and Marcus Maguigad, on percussion.
Guests were invited to free-flowing champagne and vodka (courtesy of Moët & Chandon and Belvedere), signature cocktails and an array of carefully-selected, scrumptious canapés to complement the Southern French vibe. The gorgeous Bianca Roque moonlighted as the party’s emcee and opened the festivities by presenting the new St-Tropez collection to an eager crowd. This was followed by a speech given by Oliver Calasanz, Managing Director of Carewell Foundation, a charity which CHARRIOL recently partnered with and to whom they have pledged to donate a portion of funds generated from the sales of their St-Tropez watches.
None other than Mr. Philippe Charriol himself made an appearance on stage, followed by his children, Coralie and Alexandre Charriol, who specially flew in for the party. Shortly after, the crowd was taken by surprise as popular French singer, Antoine Debarge, sang three songs including one entitled, ‘Hey, Charriol,’ which he specially recorded for the brand and this year’s St-Tropez collection. As he concluded his final number, the curtains behind him were drawn only to reveal a group of Venus-like models wearing the brand’s latest St-Tropez watches and jewelry collections.
Among the 300 invited guests were notable celebrities including the stunning Heart Evangelista and rising starlet Sarah Lahbati. Other Manila style-setters were also present including Divine Lee, Phoemela Baranda, Sky Yang and Ferdi Salvador. The event would not also be complete without the presence of the Tantoco family who own and operate Store Specialists, Inc., the group which has proudly represented CHARRIOL in the Philippines for over two decades.
In short, the party was legendary as CHARRIOL raised the bar and purveyed the true meaning of the good life à laSt-Tropez!
