Geneva, November 16th 2012 – Long a symbol of youth and allure, the Miss France competition is enjoying its 85th year and has been going strong since the first French event in 1920. Sharing the pageant’s values of femininity, modernity and beauty, Charriol is delighted to sponsor the competition, presenting the 2013 Miss France candidates, finalists and runners-up with a selection of fittingly pretty Charriol timepieces.
Miss France is a platform for the most beautiful and charismatic young women from the French territories to present themselves and their causes. The 33 hopefuls for 2013 were declared this week (November 14th) at the Miss France opening ceremony and have each received a magnificent Charriol St-Tropez timepiece. The young ‘Miss’ are now holidaying on the tropical French island of Mauritius. This sojourn precedes the flurry of activity before the final extravagant soirée, to be held in Limoges, France, on December 8th, 2012. During this dazzling evening, Charriol will present a different, celebratory timepiece – to be revealed at a later date – to the winner and four runners-up.
Charriol’s involvement with this elegant event continues the House’s longstanding tradition of supporting beauty pageants, which have included Miss Thailand (2011), Miss Earth (2011), Miss Universe (2010, 2005, 2000), Miss Ecuador (2011), Miss Philippines (2009), and Miss Panama (1999).
Each girl is sporting a Charriol St-Tropez Infinite Summer watch in a feminine, white and pink-gold colourway. All St-Tropez models are distinguished by a delicate chain bracelet attached to the watch: a highly unique motif that brings a jewellery accent to the piece. This St-Tropez variant for Miss France candidates is worked in stainless steel, with pink gold PVD plating. A coordinating white mother of pearl dial displays hour and minute and hands together with a second counter, with a striking sunburst guilloché design providing a final delicate touch. Roman numeral indexes around the bezel are in coordinating pink gold. Bringing a contemporary feel to the timepiece is the watchstrap in white rubber, embossed with Charriol’s hallmark cable motif.
Just like the participants and the magical Miss France event itself, the Charriol St-Tropez timepiece symbolises glamour, allure and femininity and is an appropriate tribute to the girls. Charriol wishes every candidate Bonne Chance!
